1. Has a systematic approach to HSE management designed to ensure compliance with the law and to achieve continuous performance improvement?

2. Sets targets for improvement and measures, appraises and reports performance.

3. Requires contractors to manage HSE in line with this policy.

4. Requires Joint Ventures under its operational control to apply this policy and uses its influence to promote it in its other ventures.

5. Includes HSE performance in the appraisal of all staff and rewards accordingly.


COMMUNITY AFFAIRS, SAFETY, HEALTH ENVIRONMENT AND SECURITY (CASHES) POLICY


It is the company’s policy that all activities are planned and executed in a manner that:

• Preserves the Health, Safety and Security of employees, the employees of Energycore Integrated Service Limited contractors, and all members of the public who may be affected by Energycore Integrated Service Limited operations.

• Minimizes the impact of its operations on the environment.

• Is sensitive to the needs and concerns of Energycore Integrated Services Ltd’s host communities.

Every Energycore Integrated Service Limited employee and Energycore Integrated Service Limited contractor’s employee must plan and perform his or her work in accordance with this policy. An activity, which in the opinion of the employee, cannot be carried out in accordance with the policy, must be suspended and reported immediately to the relevant Energycore Integrated Service Limited supervisor.

IMPLICATIONS OF THE CASHES POLICY

The CASHES Policy means in practice that:

All hazards have been identified systematically and the full implications of all their potential effects are known and addressed. This includes all implication of hazards on all persons impacted by Energycore Integrated Service Limitedoperations, the potential impact on the environment and Energycore Integrated Service Limitedhost communities, and potential sensitivity risks.

Therefore:

• Activities identified as unhealthy, unsafe or environmentally unsound will not be started, or will be suspended until acceptable solutions are found;

• The management of CASHES related issues will be an integral part of Energycore Integrated Service Limitedbusiness. Supervisors will be held just as accountable for CASHES targets as for production, financial and schedule targets;

• Energycore Integrated Service Limitedrequires its Contractors to apply CASHES standards fully compatible with its own;

• Energycore Integrated Service Limitedwill pursue full compliance with Nigerian legislative requirements and will engage in dialogue with the Nigerian Authorities on the formulation of new standards;

• Energycore Integrated Service Limitedwill progressively reduce emission and discharges of wastes that are known to have negative impact on the environment, with the ultimate aim of eliminating them;

It is the duty of all levels of line supervisors to provide the necessary structure and resources to implement the part of the company’s CASHES-Management System for which they are responsible.  

SECURITY POLICY


It is the company’s policy that all activities are planned and executed in a manner that:

• Minimizes the impact of its operations on the environment.

COMMUNITY RELATIONS POLICY 

In order to improve the quality of life in host communities Energycore Integrated Service Limitedshall

1. Establish a community development programme, which applies world standards of practice to serve its host communities.


2. Work in partnership with host communities and where appropriate with government, donors, non-Governmental organizations, community-based groups and other stakeholders


3. Encourage the full participation of host communities in project planning, implementation and monitoring


4. Maintain communication with all social segments of host communities in order to address their needs


5. Focus community development assistance on activities having high impact and broad benefits for the host population


6. Pay special attention to the most economically disadvantaged social groups

CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

It is the responsibility of Energycore Integrated Service Limited to carry out its business activities in such a manner that no fatality or serious injuries or damage to property or individual arises. Every necessary step shall be taken to safeguard all work including third parties. Positive attitudes to safety shall be rewarded and negative ones frowned upon.

Detailed safe work procedures must be put in place and site management held accountable for its implementation.

In order to ensure option performance, the following strategies will be adopted:

1. Continuous Identification of Accident Causes
2. Control of Accident Causes
3. Minimization of Accident Losses

While the overall responsibility for safety rested at the highest management level, employees at all levels are accountable for its implementation. With this in mind, employees should report potential hazards and observe safety rules, procedures and code of practice at all times.

This policy will be brought to the notice of all employees. It will be reviewed as at when due.

We shall operate from the concept that all Accidents are preventable. Let us all put this viewpoint to firm practice as working safety and in accordance with the international policy and other related safety codes shall continue to remain a condition for continued employment.

This policy shall be communicated to all employees, to all the clients of the company and its suppliers and to all third parties with whom the company may be associated.
